On November 9, the Cordova Community Foundation hosted a small number of folks at Advisory Board member, Rob Eckley and his wife Deb’s lovely home. The goal was to grow awareness about the Cordova Community Foundation while socializing a bit with friends. Guests who filled out a contact information slip had their name entered in a drawing for $250 that the winner will donate to the Cordova nonprofit of their choice.
After a brief welcome from Rob Eckley, Advisory Board members Kristin Carpenter and Michelle Hahn spoke about what the Cordova Community Foundation means to them. Donor Dan Hull, visiting from Anchorage, also shared his thoughts. Raising his family in Anchorage, but fishing in Cordova, Dan said the small fishing village has always had a special place in his heart. It is for this reason that he became one of the Cordova Community Foundation’s founding donors. Guests who had questions about the Foundation were answered by Mariko Sarafin, Senior Program Affiliate Officer and Lindsey Hajduk, Affiliate Program Officer, both of whom were visiting from Anchorage for this event.
Rounding out the evening, Judy and Al Fulton were picked from the drawing and chose the Little Chapel to gift the $250 award.
