Advisory Board Members

Kristin Smith, Board Chair
Kristin has long worked to build a lasting legacy for Cordova. She helped establish the Cordova Community Foundation in 2019 and has served as board chair since its creation. She believes deeply in supporting the many people who work hard to strengthen Cordova’s nonprofits.
Outside of her board role, Kristin enjoys running and skiing who happily balances her outdoor pursuits with Cordova’s exceptional seafood and the occasional chocolate chip cookie, especially when enjoyed around a campfire at Alaganik Slough. She remains in Cordova because she loves how people here show up for one another and genuinely care.

Alexis Cooper, Board Treasurer

Jake Borst, Board Secretary
Jake joined the Cordova Community Foundation Advisory Board as soon as he learned about the opportunity, eager to give back to a community that has shaped his life and the lives of those he loves. He is inspired by working alongside people who share his passion for service and community building.
When asked about his connection to Cordova, Jake describes bustling summers, peaceful winters, sideways rain, and brilliant bluebird days. Each season brings its own kind of adventure. More than anything, he values the people who make Cordova the place he is proud to call home.
