After years of preparation, local community members in Cordova galvanized and applied to The Alaska Community Foundation’s Affiliate program, which fosters localized philanthropy across Alaska. In 2019, the Cordova Community Foundation officially launched as ACF’s eleventh Affiliate.
Cordova Community Foundation is focused on the needs of our community. We connect donors with our cause to create a better life for our residents, now and forever. Through building our community endowment, local nonprofits and charitable projects have a local source of funding. We are Cordova’s local funder, and we support a broad range of charitable activities in our community.
We also invest in nonprofits and our community in other ways. We bring people together to learn important skills and provide capacity building trainings. We convene our residents to identify community issues and to provide solutions to meet these needs.
Our residents believe in the power of local giving and local investing. Cordova Community Foundation is a philanthropic vehicle where donors can support our community broadly and pool their resources with other generous donors, to make a larger impact together.
